Samsung unveiled its folding phone, the Galaxy Fold, at a dedicated event earlier in February. Foldable phones and the return of the slider phone will be the hottest trends this year.
But despite you having to cover this huge cost when buying a Galaxy S10, Samsung actually pays much less to make the device.
IT LOOKS LIKE so-called "foldables" won't be a short-lived fad after all, as Samsung is reportedly developing two more flexible gadgets.
Samsung has sold 20 percent more of the Galaxy S10 on the first day of sales compared to the S9, the company announced. The other one is said to adopt the out-folding form factor, like Huawei's Mate X, which is considered by Huawei CEO Richard Yu the better option and form factor for a foldable. Like the Mate X, there's no extra screen and it's thinner than the Galaxy Fold.

Michigan's dynamic duo of defensive end Rashan Gary and linebacker Devin Bush also helped themselves with strong showings Sunday. Here are four players who dominated the scouting combine and could be potential targets for the Raiders in the first round.
The firm is said to be trying to improve the durability of the handset's display, in a bid to eliminate a crease that appears on the panel. It may feature a second external display, like the Galaxy Fold, depending on how customers respond to the Fold.
The biggest issue, though, is the new ultrasonic fingerprint sensor built into the front display.
The Galaxy Fold's screen imperfection develops on a protective film covering the touch sensor bonded with the display underneath, the person said. An iFixit teardown of the Samsung S10 series shows that the fingerprint sensor is firmly fused to the screen of the Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus. However, it seems the company is unlikely to arrive at a solution anytime soon and is instead considering a free screen replacement program.
It's been barely a fortnight since the official announcement of the Samsung Galaxy Fold. Flip phones still have a small foothold in the feature phone market, but the design is certainly ripe for a reboot with the emergence of foldable displays.
