Video obtained by Action 2 News shows McCarthy walking behind the referees when there is some kind of exchange. Pulaski Athletic Director Janel Batten said the situation was "clearly unacceptable".
Said Notre Dame Athletics Director in a statement: "We have been contacted by the WIAA regarding last night's basketball game, and we are now looking further into this situation".
Although audio cannot be heard, McCarthy can be seen gesturing until the referees continued on their way and he turned and left. The loss ended Notre Dame's season. After the game, McCarthy apparently had a "verbal tirade" directed toward game officials.
