The forecaster warned of snow and ice continuing into Saturday across the eastern coast of Britain stretching from Lowestoft in Suffolk to East Lothian in Scotland.

Road users and air passengers have already been delayed by the weather and there are warnings of rail delays and cancellations, power outages and the cutting off of rural communities.
"This snow and ice could be disruptive causing delays to travel".
'Friday's snow will gradually ease during Friday evening and night.
Police forces across the country are warning motorists to consider if their journeys are necessary before heading out on Friday and be "extremely careful" if have to travel by road.
