Maroon 5 headlined the Super Bowl LIII halftime show. Maroon 5 proved once more why they are music's equivalent to a Nilla Wafter, making good on their pre-show promise to let their signature brand of coffee shop pop music "do the talking". Twitter was flooded with viewers at home taking the opportunity to dunk on Maroon 5, slamming the band and their apparently lacklustre performance. Scott performed his No. 1 hit, "Sickomode", and Levine awkwardly danced beside him, which looked nearly as bad as Katy Perry dancing next to Missy Elliott at Super Bowl 49.
They introduced Scott with a clip from "Sweet Victory", a 2001 episode where the sponge performs at the Bubble Bowl, Bikini Bottom's version of the Super Bowl.
The performance included appearances from rappers Scott and Big Boi. He rolled up to the stage in an antique Cadillac convertible and wearing a giant fur coat to perform his hit song "The Way You Move".
But rumoured surprise guest Christina Aguilera was a no-show, despite Maroon 5 finishing with their duet Moves Like Jagger. Maroon 5, Travis Scott, and Big Boi all came together for a thrilling show that brought some excitement to a game that started slowly.
I'm going to be honest here: I don't like football, so I don't watch the Super Bowl.

In a recent song, Jay-Z alluded to declining to perform at the Super Bowl, and Amy Schumer refused to appear in a TV ad during the game.
