Investigators and lawyers in at least two states are seeking more information about allegations against R. Kelly, after a new documentary series reignited interest in reports of the R&B singer's alleged sexual misconduct and other illicit behavior.
In recent days, Kelly has faced increased pressure from advocates who have protested outside of his Chicago studio and demanded that police investigate allegations against minors.
Foxx called a press conference to make it known that she is willing to look into opening an investigation, but needs the unknown accusers and their families to come forward.
Foxx said that after watching the series herself, "I was sickened by the allegations".
"I believe a hundred percent that me and my family are in danger", Timothy Savage said after he reported the alleged threats to police. However, police said no one was arrested, and there is not an ongoing criminal investigation of Kelly.
Timothy and his wife Joycelyn have long maintained that their daughter is being held against her will by Kelly, and the singer forced the young woman to cut off family contact.
