Taking note of the issue, Apple conducted an investigation of its own and has now concluded it was indeed true and has initiated a free replacement programme across the world for the affected iPhone X owners. The smartphone remains the Cupertino, California-based company's most important device, generating about 60 percent of quarterly sales and tying customers to other services such as Apple's music and video streaming.
This display module replacement program will cover the iPhone X for three years since its first retail sale. The company clearly states that, "If your iPhone X has any damage which impairs the ability to complete the fix, such as a cracked screen, that issue will need to be resolved prior to the service".
These changes are expected to help Apple and Amazon have more control over the pricing and inventory of Apple products.
Regarding the iPhone X - which was discontinued in September - Apple states that it has uncovered that some screens "experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module". The problems pertain to the touch functionality on the iPhone X and data loss or drive failure on the 13-inch Macbook Pro.

IPhone unit sales barely increased in the fourth quarter from a year earlier, Apple reported earlier this month, even though the new flagship devices came out in the period.
"Any files that were already corrupted prior to service, can not be restored", Apple said.
One of the most frustrating things about being an Apple customer is that it can take the company a long time to admit when there's a systemic issue with a particular device.
