The primary novelty of the new update is the introduction of the new, revamped Xbox avatars, initially announced by Microsoft in 2016. The new Avatars can be seen on your profile, the pages of others, on activity feed posts, leaderboards, club headers, friend blocks, and more.
The Avatar Store is also where users can find licensed designs from various games and new content is expected monthly.
In addition to Avatars, the October update also includes voice support for Alexa and Cortana.
The skill will be available in the USA today. For example, if you have the Xbox skill enabled on your Echo just say "Alexa, launch Forza Horizon 4" and this command will automatically turn on your console, sign you in, and launch Forza Horizon 4. While they'll actively represent you all across the Xbox One, you can also use Photobooth for some stylish shots of your own. Cortana is Microsoft's personal assistant and Alexa is that of Amazon.
Finally, the new languages for Narrator have also released with the update.
Storm Callum is on its way
Ireland will bear the brunt of the storm, but gusts of 80mph are expected in parts of Scotland, with up to 10cm of rain falling. Rainfall is expected to reach up to 10cm and could cause flooding, as well as making driving conditions hard for those affected.
Microsoft is today rolling out the October 2018 Update for Xbox One. The feature allows players to control their Xbox One through the devices with commands such as turning the console on and off, launching games, capturing screenshots and video, and volume control. This features all ranges of body types.
Dolby Vision is supported by select TVs made in 2017 and 2018 by LG, Sony, and Funai. Until now, the Xbox One used HDR 10 support, which is actually the current standard, but the new Dolby Vision is meant to bring more vivid color schemes. Support on more apps will come in the following months.
If you still don't have an Xbox One S, you can purchase one on Amazon.
Lastly, five additional languages are being added to Narrator, including Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, Swedish, and Dutch. Said features were issued to Insiders a couple months back.
