The Tropical Storm Oscar has got upgraded into a Category 1 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 120 kmph.
Oscar, the 15th named storm this season, was about 815 miles east-southeast of Bermuda and 780 miles northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands, the National Hurricane Center said in its 5 a.m. advisory.
But Tropical Storm Oscar, earlier said to be a potential threat to Bermuda, had altered track and was no longer viewed as a danger.
The storm is moving to the west at 16 miles per hour (26 kph). If the forecast holds, Oscar would be the 8th Atlantic hurricane of 2018.

No coastal watches or warnings are in effect.
Forecasters at the Miami-based hurricane center say Oscar should continue westward during the night before beginning a turn toward the west-northwest.
The system is expected to move generally northward during the next couple of days, according to the forecast.
A cyclone is a closed-circulation rotating storm that depending on its wind-speed intensity is classified, from weakest to strongest, as a tropical depression, tropical storm or hurricane.
