This week, Tanushree Dutta controversially named Nana Patekar as the actor who allegedly harassed her while filming a song sequence 10 years ago - Ms Dutta eventually quit the film. Amitabh Bachchan outright refused to comment on the matter; Aamir Khan offered a diplomatic response; choreographer Ganesh Acharya, who worked on the 2008 film in question, defended Nana Patekar by telling News18, "I can confirm that nothing this sort of happened". Acharya rubbished Dutta's allegations that Nana misbehaved with her and said that whatever Tanushree alleges, never happened. Ganesh Acharya was the one who pressurised me to perform an intimate step.
Tanushree has also called out other big names from the industry - Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth, for working with Nana despite knowing that he has a history of assaulting women. "He was grabbing my hands and teaching me how to dance", Ms Dutta told NDTV in an interview.
Patekar said there were four to five hundred people present on set which made it impossible for someone to sexually harass a woman and get away with it. She also alleged that Nana insisted on doing the song 'Nathni Utaro' with her despite it being a solo number. People with this kind of character speak like this against the kind of character that I have because they say she does glamorous roles so must be glamorous and all. In an interaction with Times Now, the actor denied Dutta's claims and said he'll see what he can do legally. "It's a wrong statement that Nana ji called members of some political party on set".
Tanushree also alleged that he called goons to the set, who vandalised her auto as she attempted to leave.
