Saudi Arabia's media ministry is investigating the incident, which came as tensions between the two countries escalated.
Transport Canada did not immediately respond to request for comment on the decision.
Canada on Monday refused to back down in its defense of human rights after Saudi Arabia froze new trade and investment and expelled the Canadian ambassador in retaliation for Ottawa's call to free arrested Saudi civil society activists.
"We are always going to speak up for human rights, we are always going to speak up for women's rights and that is not going to change, " Freeland said from Vancouver on Monday.
Analysts say the dispute between Riyadh and Ottawa shows Saudi Arabia won't accept any outside criticism and will continue flexing its muscles overseas, especially as the kingdom enjoys a closer relationship with President Donald Trump.
In the statement, the ministry said, "Oman is following the current political situation between Saudi Arabia and Canada and affirms its position of not interfering in the internal affairs of other countries".
Freeland late on Monday also tweeted an official statement saying that Canada would "continue to advocate for human rights and for the fearless women and men who push for these fundamental rights around the world".

Freeland would only tell reporters Monday that the Canadian ambassador is "fine" and would not disclose his location.
'We consider the Canadian ambassador to the kingdom persona non grata and order him to leave within the next 24 hours'.
Amnesty International noted Ms Badawi has been repeatedly targeted and interrogated by Saudi security forces for her human rights activist.
'There isn't a strong bilateral trade relationship and poking the Trudeau government likely resonates with Saudi's hawkish regional allies.
He said that the authorities in Saudi Arabia made it clear that those arrested committed legal violations that necessitated law enforcement.
The Saudi Ministry of Media ordered the Twitter account of the Infographic KSA, @Infographic_KSA, that posted the photo shut down, apparently unamused by its invocation of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in NY.
In the meantime, the Saudi Ministry of Media tweeted they shut down the account until an investigation in the complaints finalised. Officials said on state television that there are more than 12,000 Saudi students and family members in Canada, and that many will be transferred to other countries, including the United States.
