The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has asked Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of peace and unity as they celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
This time around, goats are highly on demand as Muslims offer goats as sacrifice during Eid ul-Adha. Just before sacrificing his son, God provided Prophet Abraham with a ram to sacrifice instead after he successfully passed the divine test.
During Eid celebrations, Muslims greet each other by saying Eid Mubarak, which means "Blessed Eid". Bakrid is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah.
Ibrahim and his wife travelled to Mecca to carry out the sacrifice, and where met with distractions.

But roads and 134 bridges have been damaged, cutting off remote areas in the hilly districts of Kerala which are worst affected. Panic-stricken people have been making appeals on social media for help, saying they can not get through to rescue services.

Scores of pilgrims gathered at the holy mosques of Mecca and Medina, early in the day, for Eid prayers.
