Saturday and Sunday will be partly cloudy and comfortable with highs in the upper 70s. Similar to Saturday, the risk for severe weather remains low, but strong wind, heavy rain and frequent lightning will all be possible with storms later today.
Take advantage of Friday because another cold front will approach the region in time for the weekend and will linger around for several days. Ahead of the front highs will top-out in the mid 90s with a gusty southerly wind across parts of western Kansas.
The ridge of high pressure shifts west and temperatures will cool into the low-mid 90s.
Weather outlook: Tracking rain and storms
Tuesday will be almost identical to Monday with scattered to widespread afternoon rain, with a slightly smaller rain chance by Wednesday. Temperatures are in the upper 70s to lower 80s. This will still allow storms to transition from the coast to inland areas through the day. A few lingering showers may be possible, too. Some sunshine is expected early, followed by a cloudier sky and scattered rain and storms in the early afternoon.
Mon: High: 87 Low: 66 Mostly sunny. We expect several complexes of storms to move from north to south into North Mississippi overnight tonight. Heavy downpours and flash flooding are the primary concern in any thunderstorms, but there could be an isolated stronger storm that is capable of a stronger wind gust in a few spots.
