According to state-run SANA, "Syrian air forces intercepted an Israeli aggression and downed a number of missiles which were targeting T-4 airport in Homs".
That position is shared by most U.S. lawmakers from both sides of the aisle, many of whom are now concerned that when President Donald Trump meets with Putin early next week, he might make some kind of deal that leaves Syria in the hands of the Russians, and their Iranian allies.

Israel took control of Golan from Syria in 1967 during the Middle East war.
"We will discuss Syria, we will discuss Iran, we will discuss Israel's security needs", Netanyahu told reporters before departing.

Israel has largely stayed out of the fighting in Syria but it has carried out dozens of airstrikes on alleged arms shipments bound for the militant group Hezbollah.
He said the Russian leader's strategy might be to agree to something vague, allowing both sides to hail the summit as a victory, but then fail to follow through.
