"I don't agree with those who demonize or vilify the FBI", Cohen was quoted as saying. A judge had appointed the special master to determine whether some documents were subject to attorney-client privilege and should be withheld from prosecutors.
Stephanopoulos, who posted a story summarizing the conversation, said Cohen indicated a willingness to cooperate with Mueller as well as with federal prosecutors in NY investigating Cohen for possible election law and financial crimes.
Trump's former attorney also denied any personal involvement with Russian Federation, including denying that he went to Prague, a claim that was made in the anti-Trump dossier compiled by former British agent Christopher Steele.
Stephanopoulos said he asked Cohen how he might respond if the president or his legal team tries and discredit him and his work for Trump.
Cohen, in an interview with ABC, indicated he would be cooperative with prosecutors investigating his business dealings and probes into Russian meddling in the 2016 US election.
Ruh roh. If Cohen - now potentially facing any number of criminal charges - is putting family and then country first, then, um, he's not putting Donald Trump first. Moscow denies interfering in the US election and Trump denies collusion by his campaign, describing the probe as a political witch hunt.
"I don't know why he would do this", Napolitano said.
The former executive vice president of the Trump Organization also pushed back on Trump's characterization of the Mueller probe as a "witch hunt" and said he accepted the "unanimous conclusions" reached by U.S. intelligence agencies indicating that Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 election.

At that point, Cohen's joint agreement with Trump attorneys is at an end. Although Trump has denied the relationship, the payment was authorized on the eve of the 2016 presidential election.
It was a stark contrast for a man who once said he would "take a bullet" for Trump and always remain loyal. Back in April, the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided Cohen's office and seized materials related to dealings with the president including his payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. He said agents who raided his office and his home acted professionally.
Appearing on Outnumbered Overtime, Napolitano was perplexed at the idea that President Donald Trump's longtime personal lawyer would appear on national television - with Federal authorities so hot on his case. I thanked them for their service and as they left.
"Simply accepting the denial of Mr. Putin is unsustainable".
Civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom thinks that the reason Michael Cohen is publicly changing his defense strategy on Good Morning America and vowing to put his "family and country first" is that he wants to make his former boss "grovel" and pay his legal fees.
And while he admits he's made mistakes in the past - what those mistakes are was not disclosed - Cohen says he is working to regain his reputation. "I choose to believe our intelligence agencies".
