President Donald Trump predicted Democrats will be "beaten so badly" if they continue to push for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to be abolished as several of his potential challengers use that call as a rallying cry for their base.
In a following tweet, he says abolition will "never happen!"
"The whole idea with ICE was to find people that are causing a problem in the United States ... and be able to deport them", Pocan said.
Rep. Mark Pocan (D-WI) is now hammering out legislation to abolish the agency.
Immigration attorney Linda Rivas said groups have met with US authorities, congressional representatives and other leaders to discuss an escalating immigration crackdown that they say began decades ago.
