Barcelona then scuppered the deal, flew the Bordeaux winger to Barcelona today and announced that they had in fact agreed a €41m deal for the player, subject to a medical that will take place tomorrow, on Wednesday 25th July.
He is, however, set to continue his development in Catalunya as he prepares to enter into a five-year deal.
Last night it was reported that Malcom would join Roma from Bordeaux, just months after Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United were all linked with the winger, after the French side agreed a deal for him. The 21-year-old will sign with Barca for the next five seasons until the end of the 2022/23 season.
