Sears, the struggling department store giant that's been shuttering stores for years, just announced a new round of store closures-and it's a doozy. The full Sears closing list, which we have included below in this updated story, now consists of 63 stores (15 Kmarts and 48 Sears locations). Altogether, the company lost about $424 million, which it says amounts to about $3.93 per share.
Over the last several months, the company has been quietly closing additional stores, as Business Insider has previously reported.
Fifteen Kmarts and 48 Sears stores nationwide are slated to close, including a Sears store in Springfield, Ill.
Liverpool must pay whatever necessary to replace Loris Karius
Scholes said : "I can understand Karius , I suppose, he's devastated at what's happened but injuries are part of the game". They say you need to have short-term memory loss when it comes to being a goalkeeper; a strong mentality to bounce back.
The chain has closed nearly 450 locations in recent years.
After this round of closures, Sears will have about 800 stores, down from about 1,000 at the end of previous year and far below the 2012 peak of 4,000 stores. Same-store sales at Kmart, meanwhile, declined 9.5 percent.
"The demise of Sears has felt like a prolonged drip, drip, drip", said Mark Hamrick, an analyst for Bankrate.com.
Sears also said it will at least explore selling its DieHard brand of auto parts and accessories and its home improvement products and PartsDirect businesses.
The additional US closures come after Sears reported a more than 30 percent drop in sales when compared to the last quarter. Amazon began selling Sears's Kenmore brand of ovens, washers and other appliances past year.
