Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin have meet prior to the official opening of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Qingdao to sign a series of bilateral agreements, while overseeing a number of further agreements signed between representatives of both the private and public sectors from the neighbouring superpowers.
It also said the countries shared and agreed with Britain's assessment that it is "highly likely" that Russia was responsible for the poisoning of ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Britain.
But Trump on Friday called on world leaders to allow Russian Federation back into the G7, the group of leading industrialized democracies.
The most powerful Russian and Chinese leaders in decades, Putin and Xi have forged closer ties as Trump has labeled both countries economic rivals that challenge United States interests and values.
Earlier this month Israeli officials denied claims by Russia's ambassador to the United Nations that it has reached an agreement with Moscow on the withdrawal of Iranian forces from southwest Syria.
The Russian leader said he shares concerns that Trump has voiced about a renewed arms race, adding that a thorough discussion is needed to address the issue.
Putin, who has previously told Europe he had warned them about the trade threat Washington posed to them, also said that if Trump imposed new tariffs on imports of foreign cars it would have serious consequences for the global economy and especially for Europe. The bloc includes China, Russia, four ex-Soviet Central Asian nations, India and Pakistan.
Microsoft to buy GitHub for $7.5 billion
The deal is Microsoft's most expensive acquisition since paying $26 billion for LinkedIn in December 2016. Last August, the company said it wanted a replacement for CEO Chris Wanstrath - one of GitHub's founders.

Speaking at an worldwide summit in the Chinese city of Qingdao on Sunday, Rouhani said the US' withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal poses a potential threat to the world.
Speaking in Qingdao, China, where Putin is attending a regional summit, Peskov said, "there have been no concrete agreements or understandings, and no specific discussions are being conducted now".
