Brafman said in a May court filing that federal prosecutors in NY had opened a separate criminal investigation into the allegations.

The complaint says that Weinstein had sexual intercourse with the woman, and that she "had clearly expressed her lack of consent to the act".
The statute of limitations for rape and certain other sex crimes in NY was eliminated in 2006, but not for attacks that happened prior to 2001.
